Dear Friends,
A short entry today to make you aware of a love song that was graciously sung to me by my wonderful friend Jim Peacock of Vassalboro, Maine. Please don't mob his house, but let's take this video viral. I've seen staring squirrels, little girls offering to 'kick monster's asses', and a kid named Charlie biting his brother's finger. This video is a love song from one man to another. My wife told me to give you the link and I said, "Yes dear." That's how you stay married 34 years! I had no idea how to do that so thanks to my son JJ for doing the voodoo that he do. Thank you Jimmy...husband, father, fisherman extraordinaire, outdoorsman, and friend. You are also the hairiest guy I know so thank you for singing the song with your shirt on brother. I love you right back!

Hey Will -- that was an awesome tribute by your friend Jim. Goes to show what you inspire in others. I really appreciate the balance you are trying to achieve in dealing with this horrible disease, and I hope your blog continues for many more years to come, cause that means you will too! You and your family are in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteNow that was sweet!
ReplyDeleteHi Will,
ReplyDeleteThis day finds us at Netarts Bay with the cool breeze blowing and the kids and grand kids making sand castles and flying kites.
The day finds me sitting in my beach chair enjoying the moments.
Just a few things I would like to say as you continue this journey.
First of all you and I now share the same Corvallis oncologist , Dr. Vicki Lee.
Who would have ever thought that would happen.
She has been my doctor for 8 months as my beloved Dr. Peter Kenyon retired.
One really gets to know these amazing doctors as they hold your life in the descions they make on your behalf.
I would also like to share with you another great support group that I think you are about to meet.
I assume you will have your injections of medication at the Samaritan infusion center in Corvallis?
If so, be ready to meet the most caring and knowledgeable nurses that can be found.
They know their stuff and are more than ready to listen and help in any way they can.
I will be thinking of you Wednesday as you receive your first dose and then recover enough to go back to work. That is a lot to ask of yourself!
Remember to rest, rest , rest whenever you can, wash your hand all the time, and even though everyone wants to give you a hug, better to keep some distance.
Most of all you want to stay healthy, hummm, so your body can fight the good fight!
Your posts are great! I do my best by staying distracted with life other than cancer. some days that is easy other days impossible!
Here at the beach with my family seven summers later !
Love, Lynnie
(Carolyn) at the infusion center, fine to mention my name .
Thanks for sharing my embarrassing beginner guitar playing widely :-0 I meant it all.
ReplyDeleteJust returned from Canada fishing with my dad and brothers and thought of you often. When you are ready, lets get the fishing poles out and catch some fish. Or have a 3 hour coffee at the Philomath Cafe we used to hang out in on our "fishing Wednesday's".
Get well and know we are thinking of you and praying.
Jim
